About

Portrait of Gabriel Sommer, drawn in graphite and photography, fraying into ink

Gabriel Sommer writes and produces under the name inkAsong, from Switzerland.

He came to making music late and is still on his way in. Rather than wait until the craft feels finished, he releases as he learns — each track a little further than the last.

Modern tools let him hear an idea in the same week he has it. What he brings is the writing, the direction, the ear, and the hands at the end of the chain: the mix, the master, the decision that something is done.

He works across genres because he has not settled on one, and suspects he never will. Curiosity is the method, not a phase before the real style arrives.

“I don’t just make songs, I write what I feel.”

How a track is made

Hear it first

A short note when a track is finished. No schedule, no filler — it goes out when there is something to hear.
